Movement Transformation Groups

What Is a Movement Transformation Group?

Movement Transformation Groups (MTG’s) are a simple way to release the most essential elements of a vital spiritual walk to people who need Jesus to change their lives from the inside out.  This tool empowers the common Christian to accomplish the uncommon work of reproducing spiritual disciples who can in turn reproduce others.  A MTG is made up of two or three people, all of the same gender, who meet weekly for personal accountability for their spiritual growth and development . It is required that a group not grow past three (the addition of a fourth person is the beginning of a second group and multiplication is imminent) but rather multiply into two groups of two once the fourth participant has proven faithful to the process (4 Weeks).

Who Should Be In A MTG?

There are only two suggested qualification for starting or joining a MTG:

  1. A desperate need for Jesus (Luke 5:29-32).
  2. Faithfulness in the process itself (2 Tim. 2:2).

These two criteria balance one another to keep the group on track both with healing for hurting people and health for helping people. To compromise either of these principles will slow down or derail the effectiveness of the group.

MTG Weekly Format

These questions are to be asked of one another on a weekly meeting of accountability (Proverbs 27:17). They are to stimulate conversations of character and confession of sin in a safe environment, which values, honesty, vulnerability, confidentiality, and grace.

Strategic Prayer Focus

Each of you in the group is to identify two or three whom you feel led to pray for their salvation. List the names of all those identified in the group so that all of you pray for each of the lost souls weekly.
1.    Lord, I pray that You draw(     )to Yourself (John 6:44).
2.    I pray that(     )will seek to know You (Acts 17:27).
3.    I pray that(     )will hear and believe the Word of God for what it really is (1 Thess. 2:13).
4.    I ask You, Lord, to prevent Satan from blinding(     )to the truth (2 Cor. 4:4; 2 Tim. 2:25-26).
5.    Holy Spirit, I ask You to convict(     )of sin and the need for Christ’s redemption (John 16:7-14).
6.    I ask that You send(     )someone who will share the gospel with (Matt. 9:37-38).
7.    I also ask that You give me or(     )the opportunity, the courage, and the right words to share with(     ) (Col. 4:3-6).
8.    Lord, I pray that(     )will turn from sin and follow Christ (Acts 17:30-31; 1 Thess. 1:9-10).
9.    Lord, I pray that(     )will put all of his/her trust in Christ (John 1:12, 5:24).
10.  Lord, I pray that(     )will confess Christ as Lord, grow in faith, and bear fruit for Your glory (Rom. 10:9-10; Col. 2:6-7; Luke 8:15).
